So my brother recently bought an intake that did not come with installation instructions. The intake isnt the best intake its just an ebay intake but nice quality for ebay i must say. anyway intakes are easy to install as usually car specific but im not sure what a certain part is used for, im guessing mounting but not sure. The following link is a link to an ebay intake (not the exact one purchased but made for the same car and displays part im unsure of).
http://cgi.ebay.ca/95-02-Chevy-Cavalier-2-4L-Cold-Air-Intake-Kit-96-97-98_W0QQitemZ230228868034QQihZ013QQcategoryZ38634QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The part im unsure of is the small rubber piece with threads on each side. in the picture above this part is beside the elbow or bend of the pipe with the mounting nut screwed on one end. The intake is to be mounted on a 99 cav z24 2.4L identical to mine if that helps at all.
Any info on what this part is used for or any pictures displaying it installed would be great
I never used that piece.
Not sure why they include it.
You guys should be fine,
Get that intake installed.
