the header is ok, not sure about the exhaust though since i got one custom.

if you get the header, get the armor coat.

I have pacesetter cat-back on my 96' cavy and my cuzin has pacesetter mid tube headers on his WS-6. We had fitment issues with both, but nothing alittle tweaking and jerry rigging couldnt fix. Other than that i dont have any complaints.

Much less? pacesetter is the cheapest cat back. Around $200.

Pacesetter Ceramic coated headers are the BEST value for the dollar.

If you are looking to get one PM us we can get you a discount (as long as we have it in stock)

I'm happy with my header, I didn't go with their cat back though.

Yeah, I have their header and cat-back. Rigged the '95-98 system into my '94 with minimal issues. I'm happy with it also. Its true you should get the coated one. I was cheap and got the painted one knowing it would all burn off, but I let it burn, wire brushed it and then painted it with high-temp paint. I did it just because it was cheaper and I wanted to pick my own color. But the painted one is, for all intents and purposes, an unpainted one, because the paint they put on it is only to prevent it from rusting in shipping and storage.

so what is the benefits of getting the expensive version of the pacesetter header? just less heat?

Keeps the heat in side the primary tubes, keeping the air velocity higher, so the exhaust will travel faster.

Study up on Volumetric Effeciency Its really good stuff to know when trying to put together an exhaust system (or turbo just cause i know youre thinking about it).

I have both the header (ceramic coat) and the cat back and they are both just fine. Youll need a glasspack or something though, mine was fairly loud after i installed the header (was just fine after the cat back).

Yea I have the Pacesetter catback and after 2 years of being on the car it's starting to rust, I had a hanger rust off the pipe about a week ago. Its the black painted one, not the coated one. Sounded good with a resonator though.

Here's a thought: Has anyone tried one from Kamakaze Performance? I know they make one for the Double-deuce (LN2) in the S-truck, and I've heard nothing but raves on quality from the guys on the S-10 board ("Better than Pacesetter!", they'd say...). And they do deal with other popular "Tuner" models. Maybe if they get requests from tu-tu J-car guys (Like from here) they'll produce one's for your app. Maybe even expand to include other popular J-car engines as well. Sound worth a shot?

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
