Hey just finished doing my 2.5" exhaust, what kinda mufflers are you guys using??? The one i'm using is WAY too loud!! and i'm looking for something as quiet as possible!!!.....setup: -pacesetter header
-magnaflow high flow cat
-24" resonator
-reactive dual 3" tip muffler <<<<<<<Way tooo loud!!

Thanks, Chris

p.s would putting another resonator before the muffler work?....oh and i'll post up some pics and a clip when i get a chance.

I think the reason it's load has a lot to do with 2.5" piping on a basically stock engine. Yes the muffler has a lot to do with it but that piping should have been 2.25" because IIRC, you said you weren't going boost, just adding cam swap, header, intake, etc. Add a magnaflow muffler on there and call it a day, it ain't gonna get much quieter.

Vibrant mufflers are known to be excessively loud. just get the Magnaflow muffler that's in my thread. it'll quiet it down a lot.

what resonator are you using now?

i used to have one of the older magnaflow mufflers on my car. it was loud like you said. if you get one of the newer magnaflows that doesnt look like one of the fart cans you see all the time it will quiet it down

chambered mufflers FTW

and be sure to throw tips on it too if the muffler doesn't have them already... makes quite a different in dB you'd be surprised...

That's resonator-style tips, that is! You know... the kind that have louvers punched from the inside of the pipe outward and are lined with fiberglass, like a good glasspack muffler?

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
