so im new to the forums.
a buddy of mine told me about it
seems kinda cool
=]
anyways, I broke something inside the tranny and realized i needed a new one.
upon pulling the motor, i realized that my block is very messed up, and im only firing on 3 cylanders, duh to a messed up head.
im amazed it ever even ran like this!
anyways, what i want to know is:
1-should i change from a 2.4 TC motor to a different one?
2-if i went with an 2.2 ecotec (seems to be the most aftermarket support) would it bolt nicley into my 2000 z24?
3-as long as i got the motor out, what do you recomend i replace at 112,000 miles. you guys have to know these motors in and out better than me. whats prone to get messed up on these?
thanks

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
Go eco, and dont look back.
where could i get an ecotec?
all the ones i find are for a 03-05 cavalier
would those fit?
i imagine it cant be too much different
sorry if i seem dumb
but I'm going from working on nissans all day
to a car i have very little knowledge of.
I'm only here to learn, so try not to flame me too much.

The eco was also available in 02, which is the same body style as yours.....so yes they will bolt in. the '02 eco's had some type of oiling problem to the timing chain, so you might want to stay away from that year. It was fixed in later years though.
