Thats pretty cool, wouldn't want it to run a system, or on a cold morning. But for racing, ITS PERFECT!
looks pretty cool big weight differance, how much does this battery cost though?
i like it! i think the carbon 'wrap' is neat.... but think the lack of side posts sucks
love the fact its so lightweight though, not a fan of tiny little batteries though, unless it's the same size as stock??
Great batteries, and make nice racing versions.

PC680
Small 680 cranking amp battery with metal jacket and SAE automotive terminals.
Also available without the metal jacket for low temperature applications.
Battery measures 3.11" wide x 7.27" long x 6.67" tall with the metal jacket and weighs 15.4 pounds.
Recognize that the reserve rating is small, so storage time with computer draw can discharge the battery in a few weeks. Ideal for Street Rods up to 5.7 liter V-8. Can be mounted in the glove box flat on its back - only 3 1/8 inch high.
* Excellent starting battery where high reserve capacity is not required.
* Great lightweight racing battery for shedding extra pounds.
* Can be mounted upright or flat.

I'd just move it to the trunk if your going to drive it daily. I've seen autocross guys swap them in for when there autocrossing and then switch back when they get home.

I have that Odyssey 680 and love it, small and compact.

I like having the heavy optima in my trunk to help balance the car out around corners. Nonetheless, I know of several people running the braillee batteries without problems.
I've seen a "Old Skool" Slingshot (Engine in front of driver) called The Orange Crate run an Odyssey with a 12v neg-ground ignition & charging system at a nostalgia event, while all the others there ran a Magneto ignition. The Crate clicked-off by far the fastest run of the night of 250+mph. This out of a old fueler setup that would have seen, at most, 200mph back in the day!
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
WHITECAVY do you have any problems with it keeping charged?and where do u have it mounted?
thanks,james
i'll be sporting one of the carbon fiber batts at the bash

Never had a problem with keeping charge.. The only thing you can't do is use this in the winter.

A lot of the VW guys are in love with these things... Personally, I have mixed feelings. Granted, since batteries can weight 20 lbs or more, dropping down to a 5-6 pound battery is great for overall weight reduction since after you remove the seats and useless interior bits, and go to lightweight wheels, there isn't a lot left that you can remove for such a drastic weight savings without making some serious sacrifices. But since I'm a drag racer, it takes that 15+ lbs OFF of the drive end of the car, which is where you want to KEEP weight. For me, I don't mind having the extra overall weight in return for it being over the drive wheels where its doing something useful. For autocross or road racing applications though, its definitely a good idea all around.
