What is BROKE?

Ok my issue is:

My oil pressure gauge started to read 0 psi. I have no visible leaks and my AFRs are doing pretty well. I check the oil level and I am down about 1/2 quart. I use 5 quart when I do my oil changes. The weird thing was that my oil was burnt to all hell even though it only has 1000 miles on it.

So I change my oil. I put in conventional 10W30 oil since the motor only has 1000 miles on it since the rebuild. I then drive to work and back for about 3 days and my oil gauge is reading 0psi again. I pull the dipstick.. Again it is looking like oil that has 5000 miles on it in just 2 days. That was only 120 miles. So I go back and change the oil again. This time I put in 10W40 synthetic blend. I go to and from work again and my oil pressure is back at 0 psi again.

There has been no noticeable loss in power. I did a leak-down test once and the readings were amazing. They were unheard of results. We are talking 2-5% loss.

That was before all this happened though. Are my cylinder temps to high? I am running SRT4 plugs. Should I go a step colder perhaps?

Any Ideas that yall have off the bat let me know. To night I will do a leak-down test again and have a look at the spark plugs for a reading. I am really hoping that I don't have to put new rings in.

If rings end up being the issue where/how would I get rings for my Wiseco pistons? Should I just get them through Aaron or Karo?
Last ignorant question. To change the rings would I just pull the pan, pull the chain, pull the cradle, pull the crank, drop out the pistons, remove rings, re-install with new rod bolts, mains and new tensioner bolt?

you can order rings directly from Wiseco's website.

Is the actual oil light coming on in the car? Could be a problem with your guage. Not sure whats turning the oil black. If you were burning it you'd see smoke out the exhaust.

Yeah could be a bad sender on your gauge.. Also, it could be all that assembly lube when the motor was put together that is turning your oil that color.. Thats what happend to mine..

Yeah, is your oil light coming on in the dash? If not, your sendor, or aftermarket gauge is done with.

I will have to check the gauge. The Oil light wont come on in my car. I dont have the factory oil pressure sending unit any more. Long story... I wanted to get a new one and turns out those are expensive. I will have to get to a junk yard to get a new one. In the mean time I will have take the wife's car.

As far as the rings go Darryn you would drop the pan, pull the head, unbolt the rod caps, and push the pistons up. Shouldn't have a ridge to worry about either with no more miles since the rebuild.
