Pacesetter vs RKSport
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 10:25 PM
Money is not an issue......I have a 2005 Ecotec with a K&N Typhoon Intake and Vibrant Cat Back Exhuast
My Low end power is not the greatest obviously
Which would better suit me the Pacesetter 4-1 Armor coated or the RKSport 4-2-1

Thanks for the support

And is the performance gain good?

Generally speaking, a 4-2-1 header produces more midrange gains due to gas scavanging and a 4-1 is more for top end gains. That said, neither option is going to give big gains below, say, 3500rpm. If you want the biggest low end pull you can get, buy the GMPP supercharger.

I'm running a Pacesetter 4-1 LSJ header on my 03' eco I've noticed some mid-range gains, but it's def more on the top end, nothing much below 3500 here either from what I can tell (i'm no expert though). The primaries are I belive .25" bigger on the LSJ vs. the L61 headers from Pacesetter. So if you go Pacesetter then go with the LSJ header, it's kinda a PITA to get the outside bolts tightened down and it barely clears the firewall, and you will need a custom down-pipe made.

4-2-1 FTW!

So has anyone had any bad experiences with the RKSport 4-2-1? Also is there any other 4-2-1's out? Thanks in advance

I do not have that header, but search here and you'll find that some people have fitment issues with the RK sport. There are cheap alternatives like the tsudo header or whatever the name of the weeks that you'll find on ebay. Then there are more expensive (and tested) designs like the iperformance header-cat combo. I believe weaponR also makes a 4-2-1.

I have a BBP 4-2-1 header, it is a Knock off of the Rksport Header. Looks Almost EXACT. I will be installing soon. I bought it from a guy with a 2200, he bought the wrong one. So I got it for $79 shipped.

Also I've heard of people using the Tsudo header and they have all been people with a good experience from what I've heard.

Oldskool....you said there are cheap alternatives to the RKSport header like tsudo....does the tsudo typically fit better also? If so that sounds like the way to go!
How has the realiability been on the Tsudo header? for those that have it....

Also....does the RK and the Tsudo both hook up directly to the stock cat out of the box?

look up PJ daflyinskwirl, he used the tsudo header in his 14 flat all motor run - pretty good if you ask me. No header bolts up to the stock cat...the only thing close is the iperformance header that comes with a highflow cat welded up, which bolts to the stock or aftermarket catback...
