I need opinions on whether you guys think this would be a relatively quiet, good sounding exhaust setup (2002 Sunfire Sedan with a 2200 and automatic transmission):
- AEM cold air intake
- Pacesetter armor coated 4:1 header
- 2.25" stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust piping
- Magnaflow stainless steel 16” high flow catalytic converter (#94035)
-
2 Vibrant Performance polished stainless steel 18” resonators
-
Vibrant Performance Ultra Quiet polished stainless steel oval bodied resonator (Can this even be used as a muffler? I don't see why it couldn't, but I just want to double check.)
- (Not that this matters but…) Honda Pilot polished stainless steel 3” round muffler tip
Also, I want to get stainless steel mandrel bent piping, but none of the shops around here use stainless steel piping because they say it’s too expensive. If I went with the above setup I am thinking I wouldn’t even need that much piping since I would have 52” of catalytic converter and resonators

. I am wondering if there is somewhere online that I can purchase stainless steel pre-mandrel bent piping?
Thanks in advance.
you can buy SS mandrel bent piping online, just google it.
as for it being quiet, yup im damn sure it would be, thats a lot of resonator length

i honestly doubt you would need 2 though, do you want it to sound like stock or a little louder?
also, you can never go wrong with a dynamax super turbo muffler, they are decently quiet, especially with a resonator.

Riddle me this... riddle me that...
Hopefully I can just buy some straight pieces of piping and then my exhaust guy can bend them for me since I have no idea what bends I would need.
Yes, I do want it to sound stock. I want to keep the car as low key as possible to help avoid any unwanted attention.
The only thing I don't like about the Dynomax Super Turbo is that it's not stainless steel. The Vibrant one is. I want to keep everything stainless steel so I shouldn't ever have to worry about replacing anything.
the welds are going to rust.....

my guy used stainless wire to weld mine
also we got away with 2-45's, 2-90's, 2-180's and a 28" thrush glasspack for resonator, and the dynomax super turbo muffler all 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel. The guy know what he is doing and by the time i have to change the muffler out i wont be dissapointed to spend another $75...
also it sounds stock as can be... until the wastegate opens
send me a PM if you want my guys number in Bridgeview.
also ask skunk or wrench monkey how quiet mine is
