Ecotec w/supercharger ?s

1.) An ecotec with supercharger setup.....

A.) Use a cavalier header OR

B.) Cobalt SS headers.... do they bolt up and fit?.

2.) Is there much difference to do this, in other words would i gain much in air flow not HP/Torque?

EX. Cavalier Pacesetter vs Cobalt SS pacesetter.......

Not asking what header brand/type is the best there is enough info out there on that.

Thanks

yes the cobalt ss header bolts up, it has larger primaries and collector (at least the pacesetter), but you must fab a downpipe. It's been done before.

Thanks. But would there be much difference in the headers? Like performance wise? pretty much either a big or little difference?

I have no proof that there would be a performance gain, but think about it - it's an aftermarket header for a supercharged ecotec, you're looking for an aftermarket header for a supercharged ecotec, not an n/a ecotec. If pacesetter did any R&D at all, they have justification for making a different header in the first place...otherwise why not keep costs down and use the 2.2 eco header with a cobalt d/p?

headers built for an lsj tend to have bigger primary tubes than a header built for an L61. Its not true in all cases, but that's what i noticed from when PJ was searching for Cobalt headers to use on his NA L61 setup (he wanted a bigger diameter primary). If you only plan on staying mild with the supercharger (stock pulley or only 1 size down, staying within or near stock rev limit), I wouldn't bother with the bigger primaries. But if you're trying to push it with seriously undersized pullies and high rpm and/or cams, it won't hurt. Header can be a very valuable mod on an S/C setup.

I am running a 3" and have the pacesetter header for the cavy, I am real happy with it!
