So I ordered 2.5" catback piping from customtubes, paid an extra $15 to have a 3 bolt flange welded on the end where the stock catback location would be. Anyways, I get it today and its 3 pieces plus the loose flange, one piece is just straight 2.5" pipe and the part that bends around under the body to the over axle pipe is short of where the stock location would be. I was expecting to get a 2 piece exhaust with 3 bolt flange welded up front, and I get 3 pieces and the flange, which the straight piece isnt even flared up to fit over the 2nd pipe. Now I have to pay extra to have the 2 front pipes welded togther and the flange welded on, as well as all the other things I need welded up.

Im just pissed because everyone else Ive seen who got the exhaust from cti has been 2 pieces, and I had said I wanted a 3 -bolt flange welded on the end so now Im gona have to pay more to get it done and have to be more in depth when I show them what I want done. What do you guys think?

Yea I contacted willy and he said it was 3 piece to save on shipping costs, but every exhaust Id seen whether it 2.5" or 3" it was all 2 piece. He also said he didnt know I wanted the flange welded on and only charged me for the flange, I had stated I did but I guess I could have been more clear. I just would have liked to only have to deal with welding the muffler on but I guess I have to deal with it. He is a great guy to deal with though, Im just kinda pissed that I didnt get what I was expecting so Im gona have to shell out some more cash for it. I may just sell it and have the shop compression bend so they understand what I want done better.

When I ordered my 2.5" pipeing i receved it in 3 peices.. but everything was swedged so it all fit togeather nice.

15$ for part"'s" and labor....

id rather weld it on myself anyway. put it around the pipe, expand the pipe, weld the inside of the flange on in the exact position you want.

yeah id rather weld the flange myself once the whole system is fitted to the car

shipping is easier in 3 pieces than 2 , and ALOT cheaper the smaller the box

They probably didnt weld the flange on because the exhaust comes with extra pipe on it to get an exact fit for your set up. My 3" almost made it to the front subframe.

Yea it was an extra $15 for the for a simple mild steel flange, not expensive part and thought theyd weld it on since they do work for cheap. Their catbacks are very cheap, if you can even find a shop with a mandrel bender they would charge alot for a mandrel setup just for the price of the machine.

I guess I thought it being 3 pieces they just didnt finish it and hurried up to get it to me, and not even sure if the piece of straight pipe is long enough to reach where the stock flange location would be. Now that I realize it though, it might make it a little easier for me cause I have a resonator I was gona cut and weld in the piping which now Ill just have them weld after the flange; theyll just have to measure how much pipe to add.

I appreciate all the reply's, just didnt know what the hell was going on and if anyone else had received theirs in 3 pieces cause I had only seen 2 piece. Exhaust will be getting redone in the next few weeks, and will consist of:

stans 4-2-1 header w/2.5" downpipe
2.5" catco cat
2.5" dynomax 14" bullet race muffler for res
2.5" piping
2.5" dynomax supertutbo

Should help the sc breathe a little better than my 2.25"

@!#$, last time I tried to go to their website my computer got hit with a barrage of trojans and worms. That was less than a week ago, my Spybot flipped out, then my AVG flipped out, ended up contracting like 5 or 6 infections from the damn place.

I got a IE message that their security certificate has expired. I was going to order from them eventually, but I will be making a phone call not placing the order online.

Agreed that it is cheap for a cat-back, but you have to be handy with exhaust systems, you literally get the pipe with hangers, no flanges instuctions, ect. It's perfect for custom-do-it-yourselfers however.

Ill let ya know J. Im putting a cat back in which might take away a bit, but it will be all 2.5" so that should make up for it; plus it will be quieter so I can hear the sc more I debated going 3" but decided not to, I should have now though as I plan to down the road when I turbo eventualy.
