GMPP ecotec cnc street/race head feedback
Friday, May 16, 2008 6:45 AM
I am just wondering if anybody has purchased the performance street or the race cnc head. I did a quick search and came up with a thread from 05 about it that was 2 pages long. I'm sure somebody here has one I hope......any feed back flow sheets/dyno is greatly appreciated.

race head is no good. From what I've HEARD the porting is the same but the race head is machined for the o-ring head gasket and the head bolt holes have been enlarged to run larger head studs.... basically its meant FOR the race block.

Uhh.. So just drill out the block for larger studs. If you're running boost you'll want to do that anyways.

At this point I'm looking to see if anybody has the head and what were the specs on the flow sheet that is included so I can compare them to a patriot head. I'm curious to see what the flow is between the heads.

The GM head is better, and also higher. The Patriot is alright but uses alot of stock parts, so ofcourse you cant get crazy with lift. There are several people on here that have ran the patriot head and had very good luck with it, and also a few that havent had the best. It would really just depend on your build and also budget.

my brother on the forum o4blackfire, had a patriot head and it was junk. I think it was cracked when he got it and cracked more after it was torqued down.

I have great luck with my GMPP head it raised my peak torque from about 4000 to where it is not in the 5000 range, now im just tuning in the rest of the car to fit the head and custom exaust

I will have a few tricks for the bash (Shhhh Shhhh)

Alrighty then..guess i got the feed back i was looking for on the patriot head. I'm thinking of getting stage one crane cams and if I were to go that far I might get the gmpp head as well in the future.

Ben-What were the flow numbers on the gmpp head you received? If you still have the flow sheet.

Thanks guys
