Stage 1 Comp Cams install

How difficult is it to install new cams? Im saving up for the stage 1's right now and i just need to be prepared. If i need to take a day off work or anything.

find the Kent-Moore camshaft install tool. it'll make your life much easier. also, the bolts holding the timing chain sprockets to the cams are torque-to-yield, meaning one-time use only. some people have had luck reusing them. I bought new ones. you'll need a torque wrench and a torque angle meter as well. make sure cylinder #1 is at TDC. get a bottle of Comp Cam lube.

it's not really difficult if you have the instructions and the right tools.

What would you estimate install time at? On average.

if everything goes correctly, and the motor is in the car... 2-3 hours.

And thats with the cam tool. Without, your looking at like 1 full day, or more.
