Looking for intake for 93 2.2 Cavi
Tuesday, May 20, 2008 2:09 PM
I cannot find a ram/CAI intake for a 1993 2.2L OHV Cavalier. I do NOT have to have a brand name one, and I would be perfectly fine with an ebay cheapie--in fact, I would much rather pay for an ebay cheapie than a name brand one. But all I can find on ebay for 1993 are the Z24 or 3.1L.

Anyone know where I can get a cheapie for the 93 2.2L OHV? Otherwise, if I need to make one myself, I'm gonna need some really detailed instructions.

was the 93 tbi of had they switched to the mpfi at that point? if it's the latter (big plenum box sitting just behind the valve cover) then an intake from a 95-97 2.2 will work just fine.

'92 was the year of change from TBI to MPI. Search her under the parameters of keyword: Ram-air! This should give you an idea of what to do.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Like Nickelin Dimer said, I believe the switch was in 92. So, does that mean I can just get an ebay cheapie for a 95-97 2.2 (which there are quite a few of) and that will work?

Thanks for the quick responses.
