Aftermarket Oil Pans??
Monday, June 02, 2008 10:21 PM
I was wondering if there are any companies that make any type of aftermarket oil pan's for the 2.4 ? I had a motor built by mantapart and the one they put on my motor is grinded and welded to hell...it leaks oil not for sure where its looking like the back corner of oil pan and after 4 gaskits and attempts to fix it maybe it warped, so i was hoping to find another company that offers one that will work. Thanks for your help.

Noone makes an aftermarket oil pan for 2.4.

Send an email to Atomic ( http://www.j-body.org/members/atomic/ ) or to Miller Performance. Either one can make you an oil pan

Yea what have you done to the block that you need an aftermarket oil pan?
If you havent done the 2.3 oil pump swap then you dont need one.. Just grab a stock one somewhere.

How long did it take Mantapart to build your engine?

The pump is bigger then stock i tried to put the one from my stock motor on but it would not clear the pump it was hitting... It took 9 months to get my motor they first told me 3 weeks and keep blowing me off. Its nice runs great just this oil leak issue i cant seem to fix is my only trouble. Thanks for the help guys!

Well it looks like they did do the 2.3 oil pump swap... That is a weird looking pickup screen though, my pickup doesnt look like that.. I sure hope this setup is in good working order for you.. Mantapart are a bunch of @!#$s.

I wonder if they couldn't find a 2.3 pickup and welded on pickup from a different car?? That might actually be better as it looks like you don't need the pickup screen brace

yea hell if i know, the only thing i have ever compared it to was the stock motor but they are way different in that aspect. I totally know what you mean about mantapart they were such a headach for me and i really don't know much about my motor its kinda sad really but they never gave me any kinda papers on it like i wanted. I know i wanted it 10.5:1 all forged with there mild sport head, cams, lifters,etc... I put on the GM charger with a 2.6 pulley and im getting 7psi of boost its ported as well. It run's great have not had it to the track. I live in Denver, CO elevation is 5280 above sea level and im guessing i run low 14's from cars i have ran which for a daily drive i do believe is good here.
