Sorry for the ignorance, but I have a 98 Z24 cavalier, is my engine the same as the high output 16 valve cars? And if not does mine ahve 16 valves, and what is the difference between the 2 engines?

yours has 16V's but no its not the high output if it is still the factory motor. there is a whole article on this in the library section as to what the differences between the 2 motors are.
