what "ho" and "lo" ? ive seen people talk about them with cams and intake manifolds.
would it be better to get a ported stock intake manifold or that other intake manifold ive seen ld9's have.... dont know what it is
i think its from an earlier model or something,,, and now of course i cant find any pictures...
any help?

Venom makes an aftermarket intake manifold for the LD9, but it aint cheap and seems to be hard to find. also, the stock manifold cant be ported, its plastic and would be expensive as hell to port one of those if at all possible.
there are 2 GM manifolds you can get. the LO or Low Output is from the predecessor to the LD9, the Quad 4. it can be identified buy seeing "Quad 4 16V" written on the IDI cover of the motor.
the other is also from the quad 4, but its the HO or High Output manifold. it is identified by seeing the words "High Output" on the IDI cover of the motor. HO's only came in a few cars, so the LO is easier to find.
both manifold are aluminum and log style. HO should have larger runners than the LO. the HO was and still is under some scrutiny lately that it may not actually have any benefits on a mild NA LD9.
personally, there is alot more you have to do to the car before the stock LD9 intake manifold becomes a bottle neck and starts to hinder performance. it should supply adequate air to the motor unless there is some serious cam and/or head work done to the motor.

Also Induction dynamics makes a race Aluminum Intake mani for our cars thats shaped like the HO mani.. But its expensive and ID is hard to get a hold of..
