im lookin to get a new pulley for my crank and alternator on my ld9
i would like to stay stock size but i cant find one anywhere... ( i missed the gp)
is there anywhere that i can get a set of lightened aluminum pulleys?
but if i got an undersized crank and an undersized alternator pulley wouldnt that counteract so my alt will still be spinning at the same speed?
is there anyone who is selling a set like this?
i know aem has a alt pulley but its oversized and that would just make things worse...
thanks.

if anyone made such a sized alt. pulley, yes... it would be close if not dead on. unfortunately nobody makes any smaller then stock alt. pulleys. only overdriven larger then stock or stock sized.
best bet would be to tryn locate someone in the classifieds to find a set of mike's (md ld9). or just outright pm mike and see if he possibly has anything left.

Riddle me this... riddle me that...
Find someone to make me a 10% overdrive crank pulley, and Ill give you my new mdld9 lightweight crank pulley when I get it

^^^Yea I know. Damn racetech! lol You should start an interest thread just to see though
ive never understood why some body would want a larger crank pulley...
you can get a smaller s/c pulley to do the exact same thing.
is it because the belt slips with smaller pulleys? or is it because you can go only so small with the s/c pulley and want even MORE boost with an already tapped the hell out s/c?

Riddle me this... riddle me that...
When you go to a smaller size sc pulley, it spins the sc itself faster making more heat. With an overdrive crank pulley, you dont have to put a soo much smaller pulley to make the same boost so the sc isnt getting as hot and isnt overspinning it as much as it would.
its not just the rib numbers that have to match (and actually im pretty sure a 3800 uses 6 ribs, we use 5). it also has to have the same shaft hole diameter.
with z-spec make sure you get ahold of them before you buy anything, do COD if possible...

Sooo...find someone to make me an overdrive crank pulley

underdriven crank pulley
overdriven alt (pulley for w-body)

does anyone know if that pulley would work on our cars?
its gm and hasnt gm always used the same 5 tooth pattern?
my mom drives a 96 regal so imma go check out the alternator tomorrow...
Smooth flow alternator pulley is six ribbed, and I believe the wrong inner diameter.
Zspec. I wish you the best of luck. COD or nothing else.
Also T6-6061 Aluminum blanks "NOT MACHINED" cost equal to or more than they are selling the cranks for. They either had some crazy big order and made 200+ or so or they are using crap aluminum. There is no human way possible they can machine them and use a "good" grade of aluminum...and sell them for $40. Look at the price of aluminum. For example one T6-6061 6" x 3" blank costs about $60.00....thats not even including machining. With volume the price will come down but, not selling for $40.
Go to Mcmaster Carr or other material websites, and check some prices on 6061 aluminum....there is no way I would buy a crank for $40....and before someone says it. YES I'M BIAS!
