Finally got around to installing my TTR lower engine mount. Engine doesnt move at all, but damn I got lots of vibes. I have both top and bottom in. I noticed some when I put the upper in, but it wasnt nearly as bad as it is now. It's worse around 600-800 rpm. Is there anything I can do about this to make it a little better?
Thanks

600 rpm? you have an auto don't you? theres your problem, the auto shake like and vibrate like a mother @!#$ compared to the the 5-speeds.
my auto shakes really bad at stock idle (TTR mounts all around) you can actually see the dash shaking when stopped an the car in D. When i upgraded to a 62mm TB the idle changed to 1000-1200 rpm when its in gear and the vibes are gone.
yea, i figured as much. when its in neutral, hardly any vibes. ill get to work putting a 5 speed in this weekend

seriously though, i wish i could

lol
i was just wondering if there was anything i could do to maybe help absorb the vibes or something

put in some softer motor moun.... oh
your options are softer mounts or use HPT and bump the idle up a few hundred RPM
i dont believe HPT works on mine year. i did think about changing the mount, still not sure though. ill stick with it for a few days and see if it gets any better or if i can get used to it lol. thanks for the feedback.

if HPT won't work you could up the idle the half-assed way but adjusting the stopper screw on the TB. I don't know if that will cause any computer problems or anything tho.
hmmm thats weird, i have the ttr upper and rk lower (auto as well) and mine is definitely bearable, WAY better now that the idle is at 900 though.

you have the upper and lower but are you still on the OEM trans. mount? Throw a TTR tranny mount in there and see what kind of vibrations you have.
nope, going to one day though. i will be getting the ttr aluminum lower mount at the same time though so hopefully the vibes wont be that horrible.
I don' want to turn you away from the solid mounts but i should have added that i have the aluminum lower. it will still vibrate like a SOB but in my mind the benefits far out weigh the vibrations
i have the auto mount , prothane lower and prothane upper insert. I think the upper mount is probably the key. before i put the tranny mount in, i had almost no vibes at all. after the tranny mount they are noticable at idle bot nothing close to teeth chattering vibes. try getting the insert., its less than $20 so i think it might be worth trying out.
The upper mount, imo, doesn't affect the vibrations as much. I installed a lower mount and got terrible vibes at first. I follow it off with an upper mount a month later and it didnt change the vibes that much. Now that the mounts have been in there for 2 or 3 months the vibrations are not nearly as bad. They do get bad with the AC on but other than that they have calmed down. My idle is at 600 as well; that is with a 62mm throttle body as well and no HPT.. yet

Autos always shake the crap outta ya. Get some Dynamat and do out the dash, and then turn up the stereo

but Lenko weight is the ENEMY!!!
there should be some kind of adjustment on the throttle body to adjust idle...It wont cause a CEL cause the TPS is still reading the correct throttle % input.

doesnt work that way. the idle is completely computer controlled.

i am very happy with my ttr upper and lower mounts. vibes are noticeable though mine got better after the sc reflash unless im at a light with the ac on. its a weekend only car so benefits of the mounts win.

well, do you have trans mounts too? Because PJ's car shook like a sonofabitch with just the two motor mounts... once the trans mounts were in it was smoother than stock in all honesty.
