I have a 96 LD9 5spd. Spun rods bearings and went to my work (Autozone) and order a reman kit with all new bearings. The kit did not come with the gear for the oil pump that is pressed onto the crank. So I took a torch to it and heated it up as much as my little cheap torch would and it still will not budge.

The # on the gear is 24573813 but I can not find it anywhere!!! No dealership or gmpartdirect!!! Where can I get this gear. Thanks

the torch probably didnt help the situation much considering it will hurt the strenght of the metal. but you may just have to take it somewhere and get it machine pressed off.

machine shops around here wont touch them cause they break so easy when they come off....im SOL i guess

Hmmmm... Seems that if they break when removed, that's why it's sold new or not at all. In other words: It was probably never meant to be removed or replaced in the first place!
