I know Misnblu mentioned a belt you could get for the LD9 that would eliminate the need for a by-pass pulley for the A/C,
Is there a belt that will fit on the LN2 without using the by-pass pulley?
My A/C is dead, I've already removed all the piping and the core from in front of the radiator.
I just have to remove the compressor.
But I'd really like to be able to just get a belt that will fit, without spending the extra money on the by-pass pulley.

Yes, just got to Advanced Auto Parts, they have a part number for a belt w/o ac. I just bought one from there 2 weeks ago. I couldnt use the pulley because I needed the room for my down pipe.
2200's did come without a/c from the factory, so you can get a non-a/c belt and itll fit on there. I did that, my a/c started making wierd noises and I dont use it anyhow. They're not hard to find.
I went there and asked them, but they said you still had to have the A/C by-pass pulley.
Does anyone have the belt #?

Just walk into the parts store and tell them you want a 715K5.
If you have something like an ASP underdrive pulley and want to run no A/C you need a 685K6, and you need to take a knife and shave one rib off of it.

did you do that? if so how did it turn out for you?
Just ask for the 5 rib belt of the same size as the 685K6.
They have them if the counter person is helpful enough to do this for you.
This is what I did when I got the belt after removing my a/c from the car.
Sometimes you have to force yourself on them to do this. They won't ask you so just tell them to measure it out or find one that is similar sized as the 685K6.
The last number in the part number is the amount of ribs in the belt.
So just ask for the 685K5 and see what they do. They may suggest something slightly smaller or larger and try one that will fit.
Sometimes you have to make several runs to the parts store to get exactly what you want.
Getting several belts of several sizes also keeps the trips down to the parts place and you do get your money back from them on the belts that don't fit.
Good luck with it.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

Whats the belt you guys use for the ld9 with our having to buy that A/C replacement pulley ??
thanks
just looked it up at work
98-02
630k5 - no a/c
888k5 - with a/c
95-97
715k5 - no a/c
835k5 - with a/c
and yes, the numbers before the k are the length, in inches, after the k is number of ribs.

Great. Now all I need is one for my '94 LN2 S-truck to do the same, since the compressor has leaked-out all the freon & the lines oddly came away from it without my notice.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
And this will fully by-pass my compressor's position? I ask because I've seen the layout for my engine's accessories w/o the A/C(in the book), and there's an fixed-idler pulley where the compressor would be.

Sorry, didn't mean to post it that many times. Damn glitched connection was slow to react & then I saw the italicized mark appear at the end of all & thought it got screwed-up & tried to correct before it posted.

Back when I did that, there was no such thing as a 685K5 for some reason.
Also, when I looked up the 98+ engine it listed the same size belt as the 95-97? But, if someone else has looked it up, i'd take their word for it. I didn't look into it for very long.
Just so you guys all know, you're listing economy belt part #'s. And I'll explain how to read them.
685K6... economy belt number, here's how you decipher the belt based off the number.
First two digits: 68 This is the length of the belt in Inches.
Third Digit: This is the decimal point of the belt in inches...
Total length of Belt = 68.5 Inches
The letter followed by a number: K6, The number is the number of ribs on the belt, so a five rib would be a K5.
Now if you wanted a premium gatorback belt, the part number would be: 4060685 I'm fairly certain thats the number anyways.
