Cobalt SC for the 2.2 ECOTech?
Sunday, July 06, 2008 9:27 PM
I have a question that has probably been answered but i cannot seem to find it, is the Cobalt supercharger compatible with our engine? I have a 2003 Cavy with a 2.2L EcoTech and I was wanting to supercharge it with stock GM parts. I believe the Cobalt is a 2.0, but I am wondering if the block is the same (like the D series on honda). Any light someone could shed on the subject would be much appreciated. Thanks

check out gm part number 17800003, that is what you are looking for. yes the "cobalt supercharger" is compatible, but a couple parts are pratically impossible to find outside of the kit.

Nope, the S/C off a Balt' will not work with a 2.2L ECOTech. GM never made thouse engines.

However the S/C off the Balt' will work with the 2.2L Ecotec.

I appologize for my gramatical mistakes, however, the next time you point them out, you might want to run spell check yourself. "Thouse" are some words to live by...

I'm working on getting a stock TB adapter. WHICH IS A PAIN IN THE ASS. To remake and sell to every one. I'm hoping to have a fellow JBO member let me barrow it, but if it gets lost in the mail we are SOL. Since no one makes them.
Here is the link.

So i forgot to hit spell check, atleast my profile isnt riddled with an engine GM didnt produce. Go head fix it, i'll wait.

Yes the charger works and it is harder to get all the parts for installation, than buying the GMPP kit. An hour or two of browsing through the boost forum or members profiles could have answered the question. I will be receiving a M62 from a Cobalt SS/SC this winter and piecing the rest of the kit together.
