So yeah I decided to investigate the copper shavings a little more after talking with Precision and finding out that the bearings in my turbo were fine. Turns out that I might have done a little more damage to the engine from last year when I snapped all of the bolts off in the crank at the end of the season. Yesterday I pulled the #2 main cap that holds the thrush bearing and found my problem. I have never had an issue with main bearings before so the only thing I can think of would be that while the bolts were backing out and snapping in the crank (started making a strange noise for about 300kms worth of driving, I thought it was the tranny). It probably would have put alot of strain on the crank and especially that bearing. Yesterday a friend and I pulled the engine out stripped it down and I brought it down to the machine shop. I think I might of caught it in time and the crank might just need a polish, everything else in the engine looks fine. I ordered all new gaskets that should be here this week and the turbo is somewhere in Canada on it's way back to me. Hopefully if everything goes right I can have it back up and running by Sunday. Here are some pics...
While I was waiting for the Turbo to come back and before I dug into the copper shaving issue further we decided it would be a good idea to rewire the car. Figured since the car would be down waiting for the turbo to come back it would be a good time to move the computer into the car and eliminate the fuse block and incorporate it into the car. So now on top of the engine work that has to get done the interior looks like this...

You like the custom steering, lol
On a good note though the new PCV system is done and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I am using the exhaust to help suck any unwanted crank pressure out of the bottom end, something the old school guys have been doing for years. I am running two -10AN lines off of the new valve covers to the catch can(I love drilling into brand new Greddy parts

) and then a -10AN line down to the exhaust with a one way check valve welded in. It should work very well and keep me from blowing out front main seals, something I am getting tired of doing. Here are some pics of that before I pulled the engine.
So in closing the season has not really started out all too well for me this year. I guess that @!#$ can happen though and you just have to keep pushing on. I think though after this year I will be done with this car. I won't sell it or anything like that but I'm really starting to think it's time for a fresh start with something else. I will keep you guys updated as it comes along. I would like to have it up and running very quickly and to have it tuned to it's true potential by Aug....oh so much to do and so little time.
