Ok i am 100% new to this fourm and i'd like to see if you guys can help me out i have the 2003 cavy ls sport coupe auto w a ecotec2.2 i want to put a 5 speed in it diff note tho my question is im interested in tearing down my 2.2 and putting the supercharger on it what all has to be done ? such as the 2.0 supercharged blocks are sleeved i do know different injectors different stroke crank are the heads different does anyone know where theres a comparison list or for the very smart wrenchers just know the difference ? so i wouldn't have to look up every single part # on the supercharged and non supercharged to see whats different thanks alot guys !!!!!!!!
Here ya go. Factory-tuned Ecotec supercharger kit.
GM Part# 1780003 GM Ecotec Supercharger kit for the Cavalier and Sunfire
Run a search for a "How to" on creating and plumbing the components for the aftercooler. For the 5-speed swap, check the Transmission forum. Keep in mind, if you're going to swap, do it before the supercharger reflash. The flash differs based on transmission (auto/manual). Check out the "Boost" forum for supercharger info and "Transmission" forum for 5-speed swap info. No engine rebuild is required for the kit alone.

"The J's weren't designed to be sports cars, the suspension sucks, the brakes are tiny, and the target market for our car doesn't need to be able to do any more than 65mph." - Shifted
A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?
That kit is designed to work with a stock 2.2L Ecotec. Alot of people are running it on their stock Eco too.
ok you guys helped me out and very true i did own a 2000 cavy with the 2.2 2200 lol plane jane only had a/c and did alot to it rims and all slamed on breaks blew a line haha so what your saying start out getting it ready for performance hint: breaks and suspension whats a cheaper way 2 upgrade and no be ghetto about it ? get some urthane bushings and some kyb's? id like rear disc cant find a sport neon tho ? also what abou that rear axle on the cave used from 95-05 ten years and also the same as sunfire and NOONE makes a urthane kit for that ? i no i no search and look but i search about two hours a day thew fourms to get it done right before i do it so i dont have to tear down and putback together 50 times kool thanks alot guys
1st off sentance's are good, use them, it'll help the people trying to help understand better.
If you want to save money and still get good parts, get in on some Group Purchases.
TurboTechRacing(TTR) was kicking around the idea of making urthane bushings for the rear swing arm, but as far as i know that project has stalled.
For brakes im personally running a set of Hawk pads and Bear rotors that i got from TTR. They ran me about $250. They are a decent improvement from stock.
Suspension, i cant really help. Im on Airlift's Easystreet system that i got in a GP from APlusPerformance.
ok, sorry about the slurr. failed english class! ok i see the front swap post on the site is it worth it and they dont say if the break size increses? id like to go with a 10 or 12" rotor setup ?is your front setup as good?? i want to put a 5 speed and supercharger kit in it , but like you say you need control of it thats why i am gonna do all suspension and breaks.i have a few motor mods but im now directing my way towards the suspension and breaks thanks alot guys !!!
