i wanna bolt it on my 2000 2.4 block. i heard it gives out 180 horsepower stock
the 2.3 quad 4 HO has 180hp stock. i believe thats what your thinking of.
the 2.4 with the 086 head OFF of a 2.3 HO is not just a direct bolt on modification. as far as i know no one has proven it to gain a thing over stock. its just assumed so because it up's the compression and flows better.
but, if your looking for one....
Here's some.
i also would not trust one from a junk yard unless you can physically go and check it out, they are NOTORIOUS for being cracked so keep that in mind. (the 086 i mean).
without a tune it won't improve anything because you can only go partial throttle without blowing something up. Call me optimistic, but from the large compression increase, and outstanding flow characteristics, i wouldn't be surprised if you saw a 35+ horsepower increase with HO cams and a good tune with HPT.
Follow up with a 2.5 inch exhaust and custom HO header and HO intake manifold, i don't see why 200WHP wouldn't be possible.
Oh i forgot, you'd want to do the 2.3 oil pump conversion since with a higher reving cam, it will put too much stress on the weak little oiling system our LD9's came with from the factory.
but don't forget that without a proper tune.... the head won't do anything but piss away money on you having to run 94 octane to avoid pre-detonation.
