ok i have 22" glasspack and enough 2.25 pipe to make a cat back. that is getting bent and put on on my next day off. and i also want to put a intake on my car which is a 2200 5spd. so is it even worht it to spend the money on a cai will there even be a increse in power coming from the 2200 with only a cai and exhaust or should i just go with a wai/short ram i know i wont get anything but sound for a wai but if thats really all im gonna get from a cai then i might as well save some cash and get the wai. so is a true cai worht the money on a 2200?

just snatch one off ebay and replace the cheap filter with a K&N. relle, it doesnt matter if its brand name. a peice of aluminum piping with a cone filter at the end is an intake in my books. here is a good one off ebay.

intake system:

K&N filter: just go to ur local autoparts store (pepboys, advanced, salvo, etc.) and get one there. make sure the diameter is right though.

i wasnt worried about the brand but hey for $70 shipped i think im getting that one as soon as i get payed. does anyone know how well a 22" cherry bomb glasspack will sound on a 2200. either way i cant complain. a friend gave it to me and some 2.25 piping and we are gonna use his dads pipe bender to make the cat back. so how do you think it should sound with the intake and exhaust?

although to be honest i couldnt relle tell u how it would sound, i have never worked with the LN2. also this is a vid and probably sounds a lot better in person. but either way it should sound better than stock exhaust, always.
(dont wanna forget, all props go to larry lol.)

Haha thanks, use the cherry bomb as a resonator, and get a muffler and tip for the back. My car is a 2.25" vibrant catback with a magnaflow replacement cat. I also have a Ebay Intake as well it's the X-tune cold air that was shortened to make a short ram intake.

Hey,

I have a wai with a 22" cherry bomb. I like it a lot better than the large can mufflers. At idle and cruising speeds the exhaust is quieter. If I take off hard then it has a real nice sound to it. Not as raspy as other exhausts. As for wai vs. cai I don't think there is much of a performance difference. Save you money and slap on a header. I did that to my 2200 and it was a night and day difference.

one thing i havent looked into is the mpg diff. in wai and cai. would one or the other get better mpg. cause i use the cav as a pizza delivery car so saving gas is always nice. one other reason i want to put the exhaust and intake on is i want something that sounds nice since i spend a lot of time in my car.

Search here about FAI (Fresh-Air Intake) & Ram-Air, and read everything fully. There's be alotta debate in the past about the validity of such systems but many nay-sayers (And many others) have since learned that a well-designed one can make some considerable gains. The idea behind it is to get as much cool, fresh outside air as possible to the filter so it has all the air it could ever need to breathe. And since you (Like others) are making mods to ease the breating of the engine, doesn't making this additional mod make sense?

Using just the glasspack will make the car sound obnoxiously loud (and attract alot of unwanted attention, i.e. police). Use the glasspack as a resonator, just after the cat, then use a straight through type muffler (Dynomax UltraFlow, Maganaflow, etc...) on the back as the main muffler.
