Ok, this is more or less just to ease my curious mind. Has anyone experienced or have even heard of the L61, LD9, and hell, the LN2 having trouble with cam walk? I never have and a quick search turned up nothing.
Reason im asking is that i was talking to a DSM guy. Yes i did ask if he had a leash for his crank after i found out what his performance was. That lead to his comment saying that he knew all about our(J-bodys) cam walk problem. Now that ass-hat has gotten me curious. He said it was predominate in supercharged engines.
I aint looking for proof to shut him up, also chances are that im never gonna see him again and i dont care. But im curious as hell now. @!#$ DSM guys.......

Never heard much of a problem about it.......
but I could be wrong.
its happened once or twice before.
never heard of it... i have no idea's how we would have cam walk cause @!#$ have you ever seen how our cams are bolted down? they aint going anywhere

+1. there's more caps holing down our cams than they have bolts holding down their cranks. he was messing with you, and very poorly i might add.

Yea those cams are tight in there.
The whole crank walk is a hit or miss too. One of the shops I intern at has a 500hp FWD TSI with over a 100 passes on its seven bolt and driven every weekend. Its just the 4gs don't like that odd 7bolt(2nd gen DSMs). The 6 bolt motor(1st gen) never had this problem and most high horsepower DSMs are running this motor.
Plus most DSM guys become dicks when you rag on there cars trust me. Our shop is all DSM guys and our oddball Honda tech but even his honda has a 4G63 and AWD.
cam walk??? thats a new one

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Dont the DSM guys get crank walk from pressure plats that require to much force to press? As far as I know of, there are no side to side forces on the cams in our engines.
Not likely, at least with the LN2 since it's cam is retained by a special plate like the Iron-Duke used, along with all roller'd production GM engines. And they don't have such a problem. If that diamond-head is runnin' AWD, just wait 'til his transfer-case goes out & ask him how quickly he thinks he can fix it (Answer: Not!).
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

The Yamaha V6 didn't have the cam problems it was the Yamaha V8 that did. But they both came in SHOs. Something about that they have to weld one of the ends and its an expensive process from what I hear.
i've broken more ecos than anyone here prolly, and I've never had a problem with "cam walk".
valvetrain problems that were my own doing, but nothing about cam walking... that DSM guy was blowing wind out his ass.

True story...my car vs. my buddies ls1 w/ cam, heads, intake, headers, and n2o made my butt hurt, but he runs real close to single digits so...

ouch, ur right, it was the v8. damn I am getting old...
I don't know about all LS1s walking all Cavs. I did ass rape a few Corvettes back when I actually rolled the car around looking for roll races around here. Pissed them off so much and that's what made it worth it.
