I was reading that the 2.3L motors had a better head. I was wondering what they changed on the 2.3 and 2.4. Will the 2.4 parts, like the valves, springs, lifters, fit the 2.3? Or would it just be worth it for me to just have the head ported?

The 2.3 head has larger ports and larger valves, and a smaller cc combustion chamber. I dont know what parts are inter changable. But the valves def are not. If you get a 2.3 head the good ones are supposed to be the ones where the casting numbers end in 086. The 456 head is also and upgrade from the 2.4 but i think it has slightly smaller runners and slightly smaller valves. Still bigger than the 2.4.

hhmpph....its a better engine altogether IMO lol 2.3 heads flow better, in all castings, but the 086 and 753 and the highest flowing. But you'll need to match some water jackets, and unless you drop your comp ratio on your pistons you ratio jumps to a little over 11:1, no good for boost
