I have a 91 chevy 454ss and have had flowmaster pipes on it for about 6 years now... just recently the exhaust started sounding really bad like it had a leak and also backfires and makes this cracking sound when i get on the gas and really bad when i let off the gas. could anyone tell me what might be causing it?

check for a leak. if you drive it in the snow at all, or near salt water, i assume it might have a hole rusted in it. but if your hearing backfiring, you might want to look at the engine first, might be a bigger problem than an exhaust leak. also, check aall the spots the exhaust is bolted together. my dodge omni sounds like utter @!#$, because most of the bolts are loose or rusted, so it forms a leak of sorts.

either an exhaust leak.. or your pistons could be effed.. or your spark plugs could use replacing.. or mabye its a truck?

No you get yelled at because this is a site for J-body's.... you don't need to cross post in multiple forums about your problem with a truck. If your gonna post up about your truck anywhere you do it in other cars...
