2200 rocker question
Sunday, August 17, 2008 8:24 PM
i know the alloy rockers are the most popular choice but why not get a stamped roller for a sbc?

i'm new to the forum and really joined it for my brother, he has a 99 cavi, i also find it hard to find performance parts list, so if someone can shoot smoe my way woudl be great!

he has header and custom header back exhaust a cold air intake. we are looking at other mods to give it some more power.

tb options?

tb spacers any good?

crank /pulley kit

any other simple mods that can improve the power.

his motor just went bad and we are putting in a used motor next weekend, 650 buck and 6miles on the clock!

thanks in advance!

Don't go with new rockers that aren't full-roller. '99 stock rockers already have roller fulcrums.
Grab a 2.3L TB from the junkyard, throw a thinner headgasket on it, and have the cam reground.

i'm guessing the 2.3 tb is the 1994 ho quad 2.3 and not the sabb 2.3.

yes,

and TB spacers are worthless on our cars.

If you are looking for pulleys, chck out member MD-LD9 he makes very nice ones that get sold in the GP forum here from time to time, and is looking for enough interest to get the 2.2/2200 ones going. Also check the classifieds, someone was selling a very hard to find underdrive pulley set not long ago.

how come on line they are saying the 2.4 tb is a interchange for the 2.3 tb?

is there a difference or are they just stupid?

that a pretty sweet deal! was that a bare engine?

well he has the engine that is coming out that was rebuilt about 10k but started to make noise, the head was shaved (unknow how much) and is was punched out(also unknown) makes me wonder if he a push rod got bent for the head being shaved or worse? , so we got this one, we might tear the other one down and do a performance build on it and such may be boost it but only time will tell.

so bolt on's are about as far as we are going unless i supercharge it a few pounds just for @!#$s and giggles!

No, it was complete (Minus a fractured intake manifold), accessories & all.
