What Header is This? + Install Q's...
Thursday, August 21, 2008 4:52 PM
Hello, I recently got a deal on a header which the seller said was a Cavalier/Sunfire OBX header for the Ecotec engine... After searching around I'm not sure that is what brand it is so.... Does anyone have this header / Can anyone tell me what header this is?? And what needs to be done to install this? The Downpipe looks like it would end about halfway through the catalytic converter and it has a two bolt flange...

Here are the pics:

either LD9 or ECO cuz both of those have the header on the rear of the motor. looks more like an eco but i may be mistaken!

that doesn't belong to any cavalier.

the flange is definitely NOT for an ecotec, and I'm pretty sure the LD9 doesn't look like that either.

definatley not LD9 either.
well with OBX you never know....they might have actually designed it for cavalier but just failed

QFT

it looks like an obx header, and looks like it should come off the back of the motor, but looks pretty long I agree.

Ya i'm pretty confused about it. It's way too long to include a cat and too short to be a cat-delete midpipe. And it should have a three bolt flange at the end of the header shouldn't it? But it comes off the right side of the motor and has a dogleg in it like the stock system. But PJ you're saying it's the wrong flange?? Does anyone recognize this header flange bolt pattern? Might help identify the car this is for...
