maybe be a little more specific? there are 3 different 2.2 liter heads from Jbodies... 94-97 OHV, 98-00 OHV, and Ecotec.

yeah, I have a 2200 head sitting in my garage right now I can snap a pic of should that be the correct one.
if its a 2200 then its a 2200 there is only 1 head, probably better for you to post a pic of it and we can tell you if its right

This is easy:
pre-'98 LN2 (2.2L): finned rocker-cover, big exhaust ports, cast-aluminum intake-manifold.
post-'97 LN2 & L43 (Flex-fuel version) (2.2L): unpainted smooth natural-finish rcoker cover, small exhaust ports, poly-carbonate (plastic) intake-manifold.
Ecotec 2.2L: dual overhead cams!
The first two interchange, but not without everything from the head-gasket up that's bolted to it, and changing the wiring connectors to the injectors to match the ones to be used. The third one won't, because everything is different with the ecotec engines compared to the LN2's.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Oh yeah:
1992-1997: Round (circular) intake ports with "eyebrow" to clear fuel-injector nozzle spray
1998-2005: Squarish, upright-rectangle port with "eyebrow"
