I'm putting in the Intake cam out of a 95 Quad 4. i noticed that the cam sprockets are different size (in depth) and the 2.3 sprocket appears that it would hit the side of the timing cover. I assume the 2.4 sprocket is interchangeable, but im asking just in case!
Is the 2.4 sprocket interchangeable?
Is the cam from the Vin D quad 4 engine?
They should interchange with no modifications that I know about.
The power steering pumps are identical.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

Im not sure of the VIN... but i pulled it out of a 95 Oldsmobile. The IDI said 2.4 Twin Cam but it had the LO mani without an adaptor, the Catalyst sticker said "95 2.3 Litre" ... and the car really wasnt customized... i think someone just swapped IDI covers. im sure the cam will work, im just asking about the sprocket
Update:
I put the cam in, the 2.3 valve cover has the same casting number as my 2.4 but is different cosmetically in a few spots and there is a spot for the cam sensor, but its not drilled or tapped. But the cam gear has an identical spot on it for the sensor to work
i'm having issues putting the cover back on... any write ups??
UPDATE: i figured out the valve cover... i needed pull the cam tower towards the driver side and the valve cover went right on..
car is back together... Mechanically it runs, but now i have an oil leak... so after work i'm going to look to see where its coming from... I am assuming its timing chain cover gasket, as its the only one i didn't supplement with RTV
