I was recently given a 2.3 and I was told it was a 92 but the first thing i noticed was it has the hex drive in the cam like a 95. However I also noticed the cam does not have a lobe or hole in the cam tower for the cam sensor. Whats up with that? I had heard the manual cars did not have a sensor but i figured the cam would still have the lobe.

ive HEARD that particular cam was an earlier one (obd-1) during 95 so thats why it doesnt have the provision for the CPS etc...

like i said, i HEARD this, doesnt make it true. im sure others will chime in and make it correct if need be.

few things... does the cam tower have the provision for the CPS, just not drilled through? and ur SURE the cam does not have the timing lobe?

one of the 95 intake cams i got through a yard online was like that, had the CPS provision in the tower but not drilled, BUT it definitely had the timing lobe on the cam. so maybe you got a real 92 that somebody put the hex drive into?

sounds like a 95 to me....probably was a manual..the cam will have the timing lobe but the hole wont be there since the car didnt use a sensor
