hey if one of these days lets say you have it on a lift or something... do you think you can take a pic or a few of it please. if you dont mind... and also did you use the fittings on the pump or change them?
thx bro..
you can do either. I dont know what size the ports are on the MSD. ( i used FI hose and clamps ) Im sure if you call MSD they can tell you what size ports and you can go from there.
any install pics whiteboy?
sorry....i burned my pump up and had to remove it.
I would change the way i did it anyway.
MSD recommends that it be installed below the gas tank because its gravity fed. I couldnt figure out how to do that since the gas tank is so low. I would suggest putting a toggle switch on it, that way you can make sure the in tank pump primes before the MSD starts. This would eliminate the need to mount it below the tank.
The factory hard line that comes out of the tank is connected to the filter, which you have to leave in because of the GM connector. Then you need to find a fitting that will screw onto the other end of the filter. ( I cant remember what size it is, but i found a fitting that threaded into the filter and had a hose barb on the other end). Then run your 3/8" injector hose from the fitting to the pump.clamp it.Run another hose from the other side of the pump to the hard line. I just slid the nut back from the end of the line (you cant remove it without cutting the line) and slid the hose over and clamped it up.
go buy a new filter and do your search for a fitting that will mate up with it first. That way you will have everything you need before you start disconnecting the fuel system. Its not that difficult. Hope this helps.
