Ive heard that after it heats up it changes colors instantly......Does it turn ugly or does it just turn to like a orange hot color?

Thanks

Stainless generally all looks the same after a bunch of heat cycles. Unless you're talking about raw steel, which will turn to rust.

stainless will turn different colors depending on the grade of material and finish used on it, you can get rainbow effects from some, you can get a grey/brownish from others.....it all depends on what its made from (other than stainless)

mine turned a really deep blue/purple color. I thought it looked kind of cool to be honest.

of course, its hidden by most of the engine so you'll only see it once in a while.

I'm doing the best I can to not allow any oils or anything on it so I clean it with alcohol atleast once a week but there are still some marks. I'd figure I would just toss these pics up so people know what they are getting.

yeah, theres not much you can do about the color change, and the color chenge will depend on grade of material (as mentioned) and exhaust temps going through them.

You would have to basically re-polish to get rid of the color, but it will come right back.

I like the color change myself, if you dont dig it, chrome it, paint it, or wrap it.

If I don't clean it with alcohol and stuff will it start looking gross?

no, the alchohol will decrease the color change, it will look like whats pictured above, probably more gold/brown if you dont clean it.

It keeps the oils and grease from your hands off the header, that stuff will turn purple and blue to go along with the gold.

Alright so before I start the car after I install it, I should clean it with rubbing alcohol?

ya my header looks like a bog rainbow pretty much, at one point in time when I opened the hood at night the header was glowing almost pinkish then cooled down to orange, it was wild.

Ah, nothing like the look of "blued" steel.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
