What is your exhaust?
Friday, October 10, 2008 2:47 PM
I have heard a few exhausts on our cars and I finally decided to start piecing together my own exhausts.

Its going to be 2.25, Pacesetter 4-1 Header, Magnaflow Muffler 14315, and I already bought the Cat but I don't have it available to see the part #.

Anyone else have any input on their own exhausts that they liked how it sounded?

I am looking for nothing obnoxious. I know my engine doesn't have the power to back up big sound, I just want a deep rumble..thats all lol

Magnaflow high flow cat 2.5" in/out with bung welded in
Magnaflow 18" resonator 2.5" in/out
Magnaflow street series oval muffler 2.25" inlet reamed out to 2.5" inlet, 3" outlet.

Custom exhaust tubing done by our shop.

stockness. my oe style one is rusted out. im putting a magnaflow chambered muffler soon though. ordered one off ebay. i dont like any straight through mufflers myself. ihad a straight through magnaflow on my Z 2 4 and hated it.

2.75 is way too big.... imo, geez 2.5 is too big w/o turbo anyways..

Cody, really... Is the flow-rating of the Magnaflo mufflers that bad the if you use two of them, they must be that have that big of I/O diameter to flow enough for the amount of HP the engine's producing?

I did mine that way for mainly looks. The Type-j rear bumper looks a lot better when its filled out. I only went as big as I did because I have a supercharger going on as soon as i get the ecotec swap finished. Its was pretty dumb of me to buy the 2,600 supercharger kit before I even got the motor into the car and running. I could have a running car right now instead of a 2,600 paper weight in my basement.

^^^^ meh, but you know you drool over it all the tim! its a nice goal to work to, man. and btw your exhaust gives me wood. amazing.

mine is...

RK Sport 4-1 ceramic coated header >2.5" mandrel bent downpipe > 2.5" in/2.25" out cat > 2.25" mandrel bent RK Sport cat-back with a 3" inlet stainless steel Magnaflow race series straight through round body muffler.

and is loud as hell, sounds decent if you like the ricer sound but i am totally annoyed by it. cant wait to get it quited down via resonator and dynamax super turbo muffler.

In the end, we're all just chalk lines on the concrete.. drawn only to be washed away.

Me thinks I should parlay the article David Vizard did on exhaust sizing & tuning for power with low noise levels here...
