illl do the timing chain on the 2.4 its kinda tricky to do the timing and time the motor, what happend to your buddy, can he do it? my car will be done soon and ill do it for a small dime. I say take the head off to do the headgasket and port it while its off, also i take it you are not having the line boaring for the head studs done?

timing chain, new tensioner, new water pump while its out is an excellent idea.

Get a haynes/chilton manual to help you get timing aligned. always check it twice before install.

Step 1 remove engine from car.
Step 2 be damn glad you're no longer trying to time the bitch with it in the car.

I've done it once with the engine still in the car, the next time I just paid someone else to do it haha.

I must admit, it is a B!TCH to get it in time with the engine in the car, i have nver tried with the engine out, but I decided to replace my water pump and all new timing componets while I was replacing the pump, well, it got know out of time, and it was a hassle to get it back just right... Not to mention it scared the hell out of me when I first fired it up.

i didnt think timing the 2.4 in the car was that bad....

but compare timing the l61 to the ld9....... the ld9 is like child birth
