I keep seeing the "what size belt" threads and never really saw an actual answer.
Well I've spend the weekend trying belt sizes and finally got right size.
Its a 63.5" belt.
That runs through all the pulleys with out the A/C pump there.
The part number is 5050635 I believe.
Its $25ish dollars.
But thats alot cheaper then getting the by-pass pulley for the AC.
And if your really cheap, you could always slip the old belt in the box and return it..

ya 635k5 will work also but ya i never saw a thread where that was mentioned either, but obviously the 2.4 and eco will be different..

Anybody got a part # for the belt with a stock pulley on an EcoTec?
first its a compressor not pump. second on some cavalier engines u cannot by pass the compressor u need the delete pulley. and third why would you return it the box w/ and old belt. thats so rediculous. and ull be looking reidculous whedn they open the box to check cuz they know theres fools out there that try to pull @!#$ off like that and u getcaught infront of everybody. laaaaameeeee

Actually all 3 motors that came in the 3 gen's (actually 4) you can delete the A/C without a delete pulley.
Ecotec A/C delete belt is 345k5.
FU Tuning
so whats the advantage of by-passing the a/c. will it give you a few extra hp or..
..or if your AC compressor squeals like a stuffed pig and you really don't have a need to replace it since your area of the country only gets 1 day, maybe 2, a year where its needed
Plus all that AC stuff is heavy

Ridiculous like all of that gibberish you just typed?
Here's the belt I'm using.
Here's how I routed the belt. It's not my engine but was my guide to do this. Thanks to quad4forums.com for this information.
Also, one size does not fit all.
I'm running underdrive crank pulley and underdrive alternator pulley which warranted me to use the belt above.
It's not hard buying the belt when you do. Just measure (approximately) the belt with string and take it to your local auto parts place.
They can measure it and from that, you can purchase 2 or three belt sizes, some above and some below the measurement you made.
Install the one that fits and bring back the ones that don't. It helps to tell the parts place that you'll be doing this.
Anyway, my take on all this.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

any advice for deleting the ac compressor from the 2200? like possibly a good belt size (non eco/2.4)?
Any time, any where, Lets put it on the line and race thru the lights
^^Go to the auto parts and get a belt for your year car w/ no AC. No odd-ball belt measurement needed.
^^ no other pulley changes or modifications needed to make it work?

Right, as long as you still have stock sized crank and alt pulleys... check the belt routing diagram on your radiator cover.
