blower cams?? ecotec

ok i searched and i could not find anything about changing the valve springs if ur goin to put a blower cam in. it almost has the same amount of lift as the stage 1 comp cams just a lil more taller. can any one help out.

Im gonna toss in new valve springs when i put a set of blower cams in next year. Better be safe than sorry.

You will not "need" valve springs for the blower grind. However they are very close in lift to where you would want them....

We carry Ferrea, which is the best of the best, and supertech, which is a improvement from stock.

Where are you getting your info, very close is a very vague term

Actually you'll have to have them. Todd and I tested the stock eco springs. They coilbind just about .300 lift (I'd have to look at the old post I made to get the exact #) The comp blower cams have lift above .400, even the patriot gold springs really won't hold up to that with the Ecotecs poorly designed installed height.

If you want cams, be prepared to spend some money. Upgraded valvetrain will be a must and probably require modifying a head's seat area to get the new springs to fit.

well i guess i'm going to have to get some valve springs, does the ferrea springs come with retainers or are they separate from the springs
