Idk how your guys' flow, but I know on the redlines we're not even utilizing our 4th cylinder fully unless we get a return style fuel system.
Just a thought I thought I'd put out there.

I didn't think it was that much. I may have to visit a junkyard for a plastic one

I have a plastic tank out of a 02 turbo ecotec, and 1 or 2 metal tanks in good shape. Just not sure about shipping.

wow! you really do NOT have anything to contribute to our forum, once again.
jmarks82 wrote:Airtonics wrote:jmarks82 wrote:Very nice. If you don't mind me asking why didn't you use the wiring harness?? That gets rid of the voltage drop that occurs with the stock wiring.
Really it's not necessary. I have an electronic fuel gauge inside the car and I didn't use the add'l wiring either. My stock fuel pressure regulator raises the fuel press 1psi per psi of boost and the pump holds 55psi all the way to 8200 rpm without issue. Plus no fuel cut, I couldn't be happier....
I was just asking why he didn't use it because he did buy it lol. I am trying to feed 500hp. Sure its easy to wire in your own relay but this is plug and play and thats what ppl want.
I agree its not needed but its nice to have.
i'm noticing some lean spikes, not sure what is causing it, either pump wiring or tune. will prob work on it come spring. i think it was cheaper to buy pump and harness now instead of buyin them separate. and then not havin the harness if i did need it, would have delayed me gettin back on the road.

@!#$ the tank strap bolts. That is all.
13mm bolt head and 15mm nut.
Also, I guess I have been running around on front brakes...since the back lines are rusted through.

I ended up saying the same damn thing getting mine out... I ended up using some tin snips and cut the straps, removed the tank and went at the bolts with an angle grinder. Mine weren't even budging. I am painting the new straps and using SS bolts and nuts. I'm not playing that game again... ha ha.
Waiting on my SS bolts, nuts, and washers....also waiting on the rubber hose that goes from the tank to the filler hose to come in.

what do you need to switch to a plastic pump?(any special brackets?) where can you find one?
lmao, just got off work, and i barely slept last night...tank, not pump
So I get this email from GM your part...22649607.....is on national back order and no one knows when or if it will be off back order. It is the rubber hose that goes between the tank and the filler neck. Any help or if anyone has a 99 one....or knows of one that will fit I would be VERY happy to buy it off you.

Need number 12....

BTW: This is my Sig.
I found a plastic tank locally, but they told me that it will not work on a car with a steel tank since the harness is different. I thought the harness was the same???

Mike do you still need that hose bud? I haven't looked at this thread in ages and I have 2 hoses... The one is still on my 99's tank and I have the new one on the plastic tank..

I've been doing this a long time. Have a fleet of vans with 300k+ miles in New England. Marine grease or oil will generally outlast most paints. Old fashioned tarpaper soaked in oil then placed between tank and strap prevents both tank and strap from rusting. Messy for a while, but no problem for street cars.

since my car is summer only i'm just gonna use rubberized undercoating, i really gotta order this pump 1 of these days

how much lighter is the plastic one over the steel?

Needing 2.3 oil pump stuff? PM me...
