i dont know if anyones noticed how much bigger the 2.3 throttle body is than the 2.4, but there is quite a bit of diffrence, so what i have done is made a kind of throttle body upgrade for the 2.4 engines
to start off, i had one of each, a 2.3 throttle body and 2.4 throttle body, started with taking the tps off of each, took the buttefly out of each, gently tapping the shaft out of each tb( keep track of the rings holding it together)
the list of parts is simple
2.3 tb
2.4 shaft
2.3 butterfly
either tps will work
take the 2.3 throttle body and remove the idle set screw, take a dremel and take 1/4" out of it (i will have to double check this for sure)

i did this a while back so its already complete in the pic, but you can see were i shaved it
after thats complete use the 2.3 spring, set it to were it funtions like it should
after that is back in place put the ring that holds the shaft back in place
next you can do either, putting the tps back on and the butterfly in place
one other thing is there are only 3 vacuum ports on the 2.3 tb and 4 on the 2.4, im sure you can drill for that 4th, or put a t in place
when i did this it idled a little high maybe 8-9 hundred rpm but thats to be expected without tuning properly and i havent seen if it goes past wot because of no stops for the 2.4 shaft, i did this because i put an ld9 in place of my lgo it was the only engine i could get my hands on at the time
here are a few more pics of the finished product
please comment...like i said i dont know if anyones done it befor... but any info wuestions or feedback is appriciated
People have been doing this for almost as long as the two engines have existed....
A very large amount of people here have 2.3 TB's on there 2.4's (there a lot of threads about it)
All you need to do is put a 2.4 TPS on it and bolt it to the car.
Nice that you figured it out by yourself yourself though.....
You spent alot of work for nothing
They will bolt right on without issue
Im also running a 2.3 TPS on mine
But congrats
