rebuild after the theft

Just waiting on the new turbo to finish up and get the car back up and running. Lots of changes this year.

All his @!#$ got stolen from inside the car when the motor was out and being rebuilt.
James, did u have to make new turbo headers? Also, is the turbo still gonna be top mount?

Yeah, took me 6 hours to make the front and rear. Just waiting on the turbo so I can rebuild the cross-over and downpipe. The intercooler is larger this year (precision 825) and I am going with the new precision PT67 with a billet center section. Turbo should spool a lot sooner and is now rated to 900hp. The engine was fully built by ZZP with a much larger cam (total lift of 544 intake and 536 exhaust), head work and new valve train. Turbo should be here hopefully next week, hope to have it running that night.

Something I keep forgetting to ask you...
That front rocker cover with the PCV port. Custom or did u order it from somewhere?

Custom, I had bungs for a -10 fitting welded on the front and rear valve covers. Then ran the -10 lines to a catch can, on the side of the catch can I drilled and tapped it for a -10 line out which I ran to the exhaust with a one way check valve. It's kind of an old school drag car trick for crank case ventilation. Not really sure I need that much but I was finding too much oil vapour coming out of the front breather above 14psi.

Sad to hear dude

Glad you are building it better

Think you could do a writeup or take some pics of your PCV setup?

Did u order aluminum valve covers though? Since the 3800 ones are plastic.

Part number to this "one-way valve" would be nice.

Sorry to hear about the theft man... but glad to see you're gonna redo it - bigger and badder!

D-Mac - his PCV setup will not work on your car, it's an old school V8 way of doing it, and emissions illegal.

Bungs in the rocker covers (you don't have those) running to a catch can, which is vented via a venturi effect in the downpipe... the checkvalve keeps the exhaust from going back up into the PCV system. Old school V8's also used a down draft tube.

Couldnt us 2.4 people do this by connecting to the bung on the timing cover...therefor eliminating the plastic pvc junk under the intake manifold?

Yup, there and put a flat plate on that PCV port in the block to an -AN weld on and do the same thing...into a dual port catch and into the exhaust....which is why I want the part #.
