so i just spent the jast couple days putting my 97 Z24 back together installed the 2000 Z24 pcm i just got from my favorite wrecking yard.
i turned the ignition on to make sure all the idiot lights worked and they did so i attempted to start the car it attempted to spin the starter
but was promptly interupted by a pop and a foul electrical odor. i attempted to start it again today after inspecting all the wiring and fuses again all the idiot lights came on but this time the starter spun with no solenoid engagement so i treied again the starter sun and kept spinning even after the key was out of the ignition and burned up before i could disconect the battery.


does this sound like a pcm problem or a starter problem?

sounds to me like you hade it wired wrong.

yeah i think so i put all the wires from the relay for the ignition recall on the starter so im going to replace it and do it right this time lol thanks for the help

You know the 2000 computer is different from the 97 right?
