My advice is save all the money you can and buy a different car. You have the slowest of the slow, the only noticeable gains you are going to get are either going to be from N20 or spending a couple grand on a turbo system. You can take that couple grand and spend on it something like an old 240 or an RX. You will be much happier with that, Please do not put any more money into your J-Body, keep it as a daily driver, they are good reliable cars. If you must have a GM then buy someones boosted car in classifieds who's already lost thousands of dollars, then you get the deal!

While this is my dd...I also own a eagle talon tsi putting 360hp to the ground(pics on my myspace) I couldn't upload to jbo from my phone...anyways im just trying to do what I can with the cavy to make it a little faster then stock. I know its not worth putting a turbo or nos when I already have a boosted car...

I did a 3100 swap for about $300, and I paid $300 for my car. So for $600 I have a insanely stripped cavy with a 3100.. the v6 swaps are actaully pretty easy,

and shame on that dude saying dont waist your money on a j-body.. Why are you even on this forum?

I just ordered the pacesetter 4-2-1 headers and a rksport lower motor mount( that's the 1 that's broke)
Now as far as cats go can I take a aftermarket 1 of a honda and install it with no problems?....
Also does anybody know any good lips kits?

Congratulations on swapping in a heavier engine that barely makes more power than a Quad 4, definitely worth your time!

I don't know about getting it in your color, but the stock Z24 kit is pretty nice. If you're looking for something a little more aftermarket looking, Wings west has a good looking lip kit, too.

As for your catalytic converter, any 2.5" cat will do the trick.

Yeah back when I used to have my 3 spd 2.2 ohv I would go street race it all the time and take hondas by 2 or 3 cars, I had a 445 WHP Suby at the time but that wasn't really a big deal, I just spend most my time wire looming my engine bay and putting on go fast parts I bought off ebay so I could take stupid rice boys money all day long.

Does anybody in the northeast ohio area know of some1 with a hptuner that can tune? I've done some research and the nearest performance shop that can do it is 115 miles away..

HPT will help you be a mad fast street racer!!

You will be able to roll up on that 10g prelude and smoke him in your auto 2.2 sedan!

Seriously??? Your car is not fast. It is a stock auto 2.2.

You would be wasting time tuning a stock motor.

Your best bet is to get a spare head and get it port/polished. The head on these motors is where the major bottleneck is.

There is a LOT of info on how to make this motor more powerful, just use the search function.

As far as what "Kind" of catback (and by "kind" i assume you mean brand name) there isnt really a "best". Just get it made of 2.5" mandrel bent tubing, and find a hi-flo cat (2.5") and any muffler/resonator combo you like (so long as its "high flow" designed).

However, having done a lot to this motor n/a, I would say if youre looking to make it anything past "peppier" i would get a turbo system. an intake and exhaust on this motor do little more than make it sound louder.

Ok so I got my parts yesterday and installed them and man I can really feel the diffrence.
I think im ready to take on the lumina again...lol
Im planning a trip to pull apart this weekend(anybody need any parts?) to grab a head so I can have it shipped off for a port and polish it....but I still can't find anybody in NE Ohio with a hptuner that knows what there doing....

Your "butt-dyno" will say there was a big gain. But in all actuality you won't notice any real gains from bolt-ons until you get some good head work done and a tune.

That's just how the 2.2 is. It has a very restrictive head. Get all that done and then you will feel a gain.

Edit: I completely missed Matt's post where he says the same thing lol
