will the 95-02 strut bars for the cavalier fit on my 03 ecotec? i can't imagine that the spacing would be different from an 02 to an 03? where do you guys find your strut bars for 03+? you all told me to get one on eBay and I will be fine but I gotta know if the 02 will fit my 03? thanks!

all 3rd gen j-bodies are identical body shell wise. it will work.
you will probably have to do something with you're ECU and cruise control mount though. pretty sure you do anyway.

I must confess... I feel like a monster!
actualley i 2nd gen jbodys have the same struts as 3rd gens aswell..
so those front and rear $20 combo deals for 2nd gens work on the 3rd gens aswell.
^^^^ same strut TOWERS???
i know for a fact the struts are different. the steering tie rods are hooked to the struts, not the knuckle.

I must confess... I feel like a monster!
GM vert strut bar, $18.00 at the junkyard. Looks better than the cheap ebay ones that don't fit right. Plus it doesn't hit the hood.
^got mine for $5, yeaaaaaaaah, and will the 2nd gen strut bars really fit 3rd gens? that's crazy, i need a rear one.

Same one I had. It will damage the strut towers (wear into the paint and metal), and wear into your hood. If you don't mind the damage, then its worth it. I wish I never installed mine, and just used the GM one.
now you tell me after i ordered. sigh. i guess ill ask for a refund. where do i get a GM Bar ive never seen one and they dont come on cavaliers so where do i get it?

my cheap $26 dollar ebay one has been great to me, its been through 2 cars and lots of use. its just fine. and yes... it does actually work.
damage to the strut towers? are you serious? mine has done zero 'damage' to my strut towers, paint looks fine. and really, even if it did why would it be a problem? the rings cover it up. tell me how you think the gm one is any better in this regard?

They show up on eBay and the Classifieds on here every now and then. Best place is junkyards, they came stock on J verts and can usually be had for around $10

The GM vert bar rests on the strut tower for more support is is properly shaped to fit the tower. Unlike the ebay bars. The allen head bolts rub on the hood, and wore to holes in my hood. The center hole in the plates for the ebay ones do not sit on the tower right, and wear into the outer parts of the strut tower. Hard to explain, I guess pics would help..
well there are only about 2000 different ebay bars, i probably got one of the better ones i guess.
i have only seen one other car on here with the same bar as mine, brian speed racer z had it.

I must confess... I feel like a monster!
I have the one like in your pic...as far as handling and feeling goes nothing is 0, the bars like you showed with the moving ends are about a 5, and the solid 1pc like the vert bars are a 10. I gave my vert bar to my father for his cavalier since i bought one like you pictured. yeah it looks better but wow i wish i never took the vert bar off.

lol, he told you two hours after u posted the thread, if u expected a five minute reply ur crazy.
second the strut bar u got might just b fine, each case is different based on each car and bar really.
like z's z said the gm bar might b a little above grade based on the fact that's it's a solid welded bar and not a bar the has plates on each end that can cause flex basically, but other than that, ebay bar's are basically the same thing, it's not something you're going to notice a huge difference about in between each bar.
Also you forgot to mention is that the GM bar has 2 firewall mounting points to add in strength.
My ebay ones were great till I got the vibrant ones.
