Hey i was just wondering how much power can be made with the 2.4 motor my motor is knocking and just looking in to a rebuild what should i put in the motor to make more power?

i have searched and all i found was a guy building a huge turbo car and another just looking for a bit more performance and not really any replys i plan on using my car but while redoing the motor wanting to make more power and leave the car n/s but like what can i do i know the parts but i know know brand names or really where to start just needing some help.

will putting in eagle rods and wiseco pistons add power? sorry if i seem some dumb i am trying to learn

if u don't know that then u have'nt read the faqs like josh told you you should. go read the faqs, do some research, then when you have questions ask.

you'll probably learn more than what you wanna know.

How much power is determined by how much you're willing to spend and what your goals are, I beleive the most powerful 2.4 right now is Boosted 2.4 and his built turboed engine making 551 whp/487 wtq.

There is a lot of learning when building your first engine.

The forged pistons and rods ar lighter and stronger than stock...so more power.
But a basic list would be
Port and polish head
valve train upgrade
HO intake and larger throttlebody
forged internals
bigger cams..there are a few choices
2.3 oil pump swap


supporting mods would be
motor mounts
header
full exhaust
higher stall torque converter or better clutch

well the car has a new stage 3 clutch maybe 100klms on it the motor is knocking in the car now but she never threw a rod I got a quote from a shop here how much they would of charged me and for a full build(all stock) was $3200 cnd. The 2.4's is there anything there knowin for?( this is my second car the other was a 01 z24 and i bough her with the motor gone but i bough her to sell so i just placed a motor in and sold it agan) I am looking to put around 2000 in to the motor of this car I have now
