did anyone notice a difference with the helix power tower for the 2000 2.2 chevy cav?
the what?
*edit - throttle body spacers are junk. the only use they have on this platform is to be drilled and tapped for n2o, or methanol injection..

Some of the Honda owners say they got 2-5hp with theirs, but it is a different motor so I don't know how the 2.2 OHV will like it.
My wife's 2003 Ecotec 2.2 liter Sunfire:
* 2 1/4 inch turbo muffler
* 2 1/4 piping to a 2 1/2 inch resonator
* 2 1/4 inch catalytic converter
* 2 1/2 inch down-pipe
* a match ported 4:2:1 RK Sports 'clone' header
* an AEM true cold air intake NOPI edition
* 8 gauge ground wire kit
* Toyz front strut brace
* Vibrant rear strut brace
* and Russell stainless steel brake lines all around.

hondas also have very small plenums and short runners. in contrast, our intake manifolds are huge, and no gains are to be had.

Yep, it depends on the design.
Sounds feasible that it wont gain anything.

sweet you guys saved me 100bucks
thanks
"The Helix Power Tower PLUS is dyno and flow bench tested to create perfect air turbulence,
better detonation, and more power."
but is it enough power to spend 100bucks on i am running an aem short ram intake atm as well
detonation is BAD. I am sure it is a misprint.
I would not waste the money on it unless you need a place to mount a nozzle.
better detonation = more fuel burned and the more fuel you burn in the chambers the more HP you produce right?
so as long as the injectors keep up shouldnt be to bad
Your confusing combustion with detonation.
Better combustion is something you want.... detonation is very bad, it causes knock sensors to pull a ton of ignition timing killing power in an attempt to keep your pistons in 1 piece.
There was a thread with someone saying on the Ecotec, this helix tower adds enough length where you cannot close the hood.
Is this fact or fiction?
I know someone locally getting rid of one for near nothing, tempted even though it does seemingly nothing.
Some said it made their car excellerate smoother, and just that alone may get me to buy this.
I have a VIS carbon hood and AEM CAI on the Sunfire, is this tower going to make it so I cannot close the hood?

* 2 1/4 inch in and dual 2 inch out muffler Trans Am muffler

* an AEM true cold air intake NOPI edition
* 8 gauge ground wire kit

what he said, and yeah there's a good chance u won't be able to close your hood afterwards. i had issues with clearance when installing my intake. not much room to play with there.
TB spacers are junk. The 2.2L OHV makes most of it's power in the lower RPM band anyway (Between 3k-4,5k in mine) You wouldn't really notice it. IT's like in Jeeps, you don't want to use K&N (besides the dirt issue) because the engines stay at low RPMs and there isn't a need for high flow. Actually the 2.2L OHV would do fairly well in an off-road application with most of its torque at the lower end, like the Jeep/AMC 2.5L/4.0L OHV.
