So I decided to remove the Turbo and most the performance items from my car besides suspension. I have been needing a reliable gas saver for daily driving and the cav just seems to fit the bill. I knew I couldn't get anything for it modified and if I went to trade it in on another daily I would just lose my @$$.
Tonight I got everything back together, after getting stock exhaust (with only 20k miles on it

) welded back together so I could put it back on the car. Removed the aux fuel pump, removed all the extra wiring, guages, wideband, charge pipes, intercooler, manifolds, turbo, etc. etc. etc. So Im looking at this pile of crap in my garage and its hard to believe it all came off the car. Over the years it's easy to forget how much you have put in to these little things.
I thought I would be a little disapointed going back to the stock motor but honestly I have been nothing but pleased. It's nice to have the car quiet again and no so brazen. Tonight I did some spirited driving out on a windy back road and it honestly put a smile on my face being able to shift into the turns and rev match so effortlessly without Mr. 20g trying to spool at 3k. I think the suspension will stay, and hopefully Ill get a few more good miles out of this car.

i agree 100%. most of the cars i like are mostly suspension modded vehicles with small power boosters if any at all. i do agree out of the box they need a suspension upgrade and adding big power to them just turns them into a strip car. especially in trying to keep the car as a dd. thats a good reason you will probably never see my build to be about power.
this also reminds me of a comercial. "when you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" lol
Its nice to hear about stories like this every once in a while.
It can give the new kids the incite to NOT drop every penny into that turbo, when the car they've got is pretty damn spiffy as it sits.
I enjoy my High Compression N/A LD9.. .
Haha, it's good to hear actually.
That drive on the back road was enough to put a smile on your face as much is it was on your face.
This has been my point for the last few years since everybody has to have a turbo or supercharger on their car to enlarge their e-penis for bragging rights.
I've been real hesitant in actually selling my supercharger and keeping the 'blu a n/a car with maybe some cams and that's it.
It's so much fun driving a car with less power as a dd than one with too much power because you really can't use all that power unless you track it or hit the drag strip on a regular basis.
Actually driving the car is where it's at in my books and nice thread you made here.
Enjoy the ride man.
Btw, I'm finally getting more seat time in the Porsche now, and realizing how good this car is on the roads.
It can be driven so smoothly once you become comfortable with its handling and how it holds the road. It's confidence inspiring as you ever increase your speed around the corners and realize how well balanced the car is.
I thought you'd like to know.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

Good to hear man, I always said if I part my car out I will keep my suspension. I have been dragging my feet getting my car to the dyno with my new setup. Honestly, I just dont feel like dealing with it right now lol. Just not real into it anymore.

..lol you're a dumbass. Take your rice mobile and drive off of a cliff.
Anyways, I've always had fun with a good suspension on my car, when I had my suspension work done on the cav I had a blast driving it and surprised a lot of people with how well it handles. I can't wait to get my suspension work done on my subie, 170 hp is enough to have fun if it handles really well. I've driven cars with 550+ horsepower and while they make you go holy @!#$ and hang on for dear life, I'd get myself in trouble on a daily basis.
