Isn't that just a stock pump cast in iron? The gears themselves are the problem with hitting the rev limiter or a two-step. Not the aluminum housing...

There is the possibility of sending the gear out to be cryotreated and/or shot peened, possibly even case hardening would work. Hell going local for case hardening can be stupid cheap if you catch the company at the right time and they're just about to throw a load of a similar metal into the chamber (like on the order of 25-50 dollars cheap).

Holy Sh!t thats a cheaper alternative but has anyone tried that and been succesful with just cryo or shot peening this

not that I know of. I'd also like to see some pictures of gears that failed to see if the mode of failure is fatigue or crack propagation. Fatigue would mean it would need to be cryoed and crack would mean shot peening might help. I have a feeling that the gears should already be case hardened since its pretty hard to find gears these days designed for this rpm range thats aren't case hardened.
