I joined the JBO in 2000, and wanted a Cavalier because it was a good looking car for what I wanted to do with it, that wasn't the common Eclipse, Civic, or Integra. That also cost double in insurance.
I once told myself that I would keep this car forever, but unfortunately that is no longer true. As I look forward in life, I have a grand plan, and unfortunately this car doesn't fit in it. I need to do whats best for my financial future and life. I will never forget my Cavalier, I love it to death. I've spent so much money in mods, but I don't think of it as a waste - I think of it as fun. I will never forget my Cavy. But now, its time to move on, and sell it while it still runs good. So without future ado,
Engine:
- 2.4L Automatic, with GMPP Supercharger
- Pulleyboyz 2.7 pulley (6-8 psi on a cold day)
- Pacesetter ceramic header with magnaflow cat and dynomax superturbo mufller, all 2.25"
- 59mm TB
- 100% custom intake for supercharger (battery moved and windshield fluid modified)
- Optima yellow top, both with alternate connections to alternator and electronics
- Lower Mark Pain engine mount (who remembers that name eh!)
- Modified upper engine mount (to bring down vibes)
- Custom cruise control bracket (this is a great feature)
Interior:
- Katzkin dove grey and graphite leather, including matching armrests
- Custom graphite headliner
- Stock sunroof
- Vinyled (but needs to be reglued) cracked front windshield piece
Audio:
- Kenwood Excelon X817 receiver
- Kenwood 6.5" 2 way components up front, tweeters in the armrest
- Rockford Fosgate Punch 150a2 amplifier
- Kenwood 6x9 3 way coaxials in the rear
- Rockford Fosgate Punch 150a2 amplifier
- Rockford Fosgate HE2 12" DVC
- Rockford Fosgate Power 250a1 amplifier
- Completely custom box that is only 4 thick in the top, and basically allows full use of the trunk and seems completely hidden. It hides the 3 amps and the sub.
- Rockford Fosgate wiring and blocks
- Fatmat/Brown bread EVERYWHERE.
Exterior & Lighting:
- Lexus IS300 HID's (the REAL thing, not the bootleg "kits"). These were completely retrofitted into the ORIGINAL 9007 headlight housing. The housings are highly modified and probably the only set ever made. They were made specifically to not blind oncoming traffic.
- The ORIGINAL set of APC clear corners that DID NOT have the reflectors
- LS Sport kit
- Custom front bumper grill (I've had many questions on this one)
Alarm:
- Clifford G5 750
- Remote start
- Remote windows (up, down, vent)
- Remote sunroof close
- Remote headlight turn on (20 seconds, can program custom)
- Remote trunk pop
- One remote is still brand new, unused
- ALL of the alarm settings can be custom programmed via a laptop computer and the program that I have, CliffNet. You can even program custom siren tones that are included.
Suspension & brakes:
- Koni reds & Goldline springs
- Stock front 22mm swaybar with upgraded endlinks, + aftermarket rear 22mm rear bar
- Front A-arm poly bushings
- NW front brake swap, including N-body knuckles, N-body hubs, N-body outer CV's, N-body ball joints, 12 x 1.25" front rotors with 2.5" piston calipers, and Hawk HPS pads
- Daytona turbo rear brake swap (one of two currently in the world on 3rd gens, and I made and installed the other set), including 11.25" x 0.875" rear vented rotors with larger-than-neon calipers.
- Stainless steel brake lines
- Aftermarket 16" wheels SPECIFICALLY bought to fit the brakes, AND they can be rotated (dual pattern wheels, with centercaps)
- 15 spare that fits in the wheel well in case you get a flat, this specifically fits the rear brakes (you'd have to rotate, which you never should drive a spare on the front of a FWD anyway). This was SUPER hard to find.
- Hankook Ventus HRII H405 205/55/16 tires
I'm sure I've forgotten MANY things, but this is just a few of the highlights. Of course, the problems and questions:
Current/known issues:
- The car has the usual creaks, moans and groans, and the usual door dings.
- One of the axles is clicking, as if it is a CV joint issue. I have a brand new Cardone axle that I will give you for free. Maybe I'll even give you the 36mm socket too.
- I highly suggest you remote start the car and let it run for 30-60 seconds before driving it - the s/c program doesn't like a cold car.
- The muffler is a little loud when the car is cold, for approximately 10 seconds. After that, it purrs like a kitten. It's a dynomax superturbo, they're relatively quiet.
- The paint is starting to fade slightly, and is chipping near the sunroof and hood. This is due to the Florida/Georgia sun, BUT this car has NOT seen snow nor salt. That means - no rust. I've checked.
- The rear O2 sensor likes to say "slow response" when the weather changes (winter to spring, etc). I have a code reader that I will include to reset the code. I probably reset it 3-4 times a year, so its not really a big deal. You've got a s/c with custom exhaust, what do you expect?

This is also good for doing a little troubleshooting, like with the supercharge and IAT's.
Vehicle history:
- The car has NEVER been in an accident.
- Currently has 60,500 miles, and half of those are highway miles. This is pretty awesome.
- Purchased in August 2001, and I'm the only owner. Pretty much no one has driven my car. At all.
- A/C compressor locked up in 2003 (only 2 years into the car), was replaced all-new under warranty, and still blows very cold.
- This car no longer has the 18's nor the Wings West kit.
Things that still work great:
- The leather just feels so good
- The audio is freakin awesome
- You have no idea how well this car brakes. Really.
- Boost.
I've done so many modifications over the years that I've truly forgotten so many. I'm sure I'll constantly update this list as I remember stuff.
I currently have not decided whether to part out the car. The car is currently located in the Atlanta, GA area. If you are interested in the buying the whole car, send me a PM. If there is lots of interest in parting out the car, and I can make in parting out what I'd make selling as a whole, then I will do that too. As said, send a PM. The picture I'm posting is a little outdated - it's just after I finished all the brakes, and hadn't put the centercaps on yet. I will get new pictures shortly.
I want to thank all of the friends I've made over the years, specifically the guys from FL JBO. We had a lot of good times, and I'm glad I was able to be a part of the planning for the 2003 FL J Show. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Higgins, Donnie, Steve, Thomas, Winstel, Jose, Cinny, Brian, Fungs, Peppermint guy, and the rest of the people that I've offended because Ive forgotten your names. GA JBO, I've also had a great time meeting you guys and hanging out with you for a bit. Bobby, thanks for all the help, advice, and friendship.
John Piparo, I've grown to know you pretty well over the years, and I'm glad to say that you're one of my best friends. Words don't say enough.
I'm moving forward in life, and it's time to say goodbye.
